Hi, I’m Amit.

  • IIT alumnus
  • Ex-Systems Engineer

I’m an IIT alumnus and an Ex-Systems Engineer. My engineering background taught me to look beyond the problem and understand the system behind it.

Over the years, I’ve explored how we learn, why we forget, and what actually helps us remember information for the long term. Like many learners, I realised that simply reading something again and again doesn’t guarantee that we’ll remember it when we need it.

That curiosity led me to explore memory techniques, effective note-making, smarter revision strategies, and the role of AI in learning. Along the way, I developed practical systems that make learning more organised, efficient, and easier to sustain.

Now, I share what I’ve learned here to help students and competitive exam aspirants study smarter, remember more, and make better use of their time.

“Memory isn’t a gift some toppers are born with. It’s a method, and it can be learned.”

What I write about

This site shares the systems build around four pillars.

Memory

Mnemonics, stories and memory palaces for facts that won’t stick.

Notes

Newspapers and chapters turned into one-page notes you’ll revise.

Revision

Active recall and spaced repetition, planned back from exam day.

AI for aspirants

Prompts and workflows that do the busywork, so you do the thinking.

The Amitkr Method

Every topic goes through five steps. Each post on this site teaches one part of the loop.

  1. 1Understand
  2. 2Organise
  3. 3Remember
  4. 4Retrieve
  5. 5Revise

Why you can trust what you read here

  • I share insights and systems shaped by years of learning, experimentation, and personal experience.
  • My focus is on techniques you can actually apply to your studies, not just ideas that sound good.
  • I explain the reasoning behind learning techniques in plain English, with practical examples relevant to UPSC, BPSC, and other competitive examinations.
