Who we are

amitkr.in is a personal website run by Amit Kumar. It shares memory techniques, note-making, revision and AI study methods for UPSC, BPSC and other competitive exam aspirants. In this policy, “we”, “us” and “our” mean amitkr.in.

What we collect

• Your email address, when you sign up for the newsletter or the free toolkit. We collect nothing else in the form.
• Comments, if you leave one: your name, email and comment, plus your IP address and browser details to help catch spam.
• Messages you send us at hello@amitkr.in.
• Usage data: which pages are visited, roughly from where, and on which kind of device. This is collected through analytics tools (see below) and does not tell us who you are.

How we use it

• To send you the free toolkit and the weekly newsletter you asked for.
• To reply to your messages and comments.
• To understand which articles help readers, so we can write better ones.
• To keep the site secure and free of spam.

We do not sell, rent or trade your personal data, and we never will.

Services we use

A few trusted services process data for us. Each has its own privacy policy:

• beehiiv stores newsletter subscribers and sends our emails, including the confirmation and welcome emails. Its servers may be outside India.
• Hostinger hosts this website.
• Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity help us see how the site is used, such as which pages are read and where visitors click or scroll.
• Gravatar may show your profile picture next to a comment, using an anonymised code made from your email address.

Cookies and browser storage

Cookies are small files your browser keeps for a website. We use them only for these purposes:

• Your light or dark theme choice, saved in your browser so every page opens in the theme you picked. It holds no personal data.
• The signup form remembers that you have subscribed, so it does not keep asking you.
• Analytics cookies from Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity.
• Comment cookies, if you choose to save your name and email for your next comment.

You can delete or block cookies in your browser settings. The site will still work.

Embedded content

Some articles may include content from other websites, such as videos or posts. That content behaves as if you visited the other website, which may collect data about you.

How long we keep your data

We keep your email address for as long as you stay subscribed. When you unsubscribe, you stop receiving emails at once. Comments are kept until they are deleted. Analytics data is kept for the period set in those tools.

Your rights

You can, at any time:

• Unsubscribe with one click, using the link at the bottom of every email.
• Ask what data we hold about you, and get a copy.
• Ask us to correct or delete your data.
• Withdraw your consent to receive our emails.

To use any of these rights, write to hello@amitkr.in. We will reply within 30 days. These rights follow India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.

Children

This website is meant for exam aspirants aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has signed up, write to us and we will delete their data.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we use your data, we will update this page and the date at the top. For important changes, we will also tell subscribers by email.
